Update on my friend Heather

Heather had a PET scan done three days ago. She received the results today. The cancer is in her bone marrow and lymph nodes. The lab has still not provided the results to the BRAF mutation test. Her parents told the oncologist this is unacceptable and expect a meeting on Monday to get answers and discuss a treatment plan. Heather is still positive in light of the PET scan results. I have received a continued word re-inforcing Things don't look so good from our perspective but I trust in God and His plan for Heather. Thank you for your prayers.

Doctors think mom had something called a "Thyroid Storm", or crisis. (lots of info on the internet about it.) The thyroid just goes kind of "crazy" and it literally affects everything else in the body. Her meds have been adjusted, and physical therapy is visiting her in the hospital. Today she was more alert and attentive. She smiled and carried on a conversation. Thank you for continuing prayer.

My mom, Audrey Corbett, was transported by ambulance Mon. Jan 6 to Kaiser Downey Hospital, and admitted. Her thyroid is causing problems with her heart. Her heart rate is twice what it should be. She has atrial-fib, and thyroid problem could lead to congestive heart failure. Fluid was discovered in her lung. She is being given a plasma transfusion to remove blood thinner from her body so they can needle aspirate the fluid, and determine what it is. She has general weakness, and is unable to stand or walk. She is anxious, and is becoming more confused. Prayers please for Mom, me, and the family. Thank you.

Update on my friend Heather

So it has been a roller coaster ride for Heather. On Dec. 28th, the doctor's tried to remove a black softball mass sitting on top of Heather's bladder. They were only able to remove 1/3. It is of a jello outside with liquid substance inside, which the doctors have never seen. The pathology reports came in last Friday, it is confirmed to be melanoma. It is not organ based, which is a blessing but they found little nodules in both of her lungs. This is a shock to everyone because Heather is 26 years young. Please pray for God to heal her internally physically and spiritually, and to open her heart up to Him. They are waiting on the mutation test to see what stage the cancer is and how to treat it. The verse God spoke to me about Heather is Jeremiah 29:11. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. I know God is already working for her, all she has to do is believe. Thank you for all your prayers!!

My mom, Audrey, was in ER this week for trouble swallowing. She has an enlarged thyroid gland. That problem is now better, but now she is very weak (from 3 weeks of no appetite, nausea...a condition which has also improved). She can not walk very far, and is having difficulty getting up from sitting. My sister flew back down on Fri. Jan 3, after being home in Oregon for only 4 days after Christmas, to help out. Again, thank you for continued prayers for our family.

Much thanks and praise to God. Richard is doing well. Doctors were not able to find the cause of for his episode. Thank you so much for all of your prayers and concern.

Please pray for Alex. In car crash and had to be air lifted to hospital. He is the son of a friend of my brother and sister-in-law. He is 16 years old. Thank you so much for your prayers.

Still requesting prayer as my mom has been battling nausea, loss of appetite, and weakness for over a week. Dr. is still trying to get Coumadin and other meds at the right dosage. Anti-nausea meds did not help the problem. She is becoming frustrated, discouraged, and a bit depressed. I, also, request prayer for myself for wisdom, strength, guidance,and encouragement, as I care for her.

My friend Heather was just admitted into the hospital today. The doctors are not exactly sure what is wrong. They said that it could possibly be cancer. They won't know until the test results come in. Please keep Heather and her family in your prayers. Thank you.
